  His first encounter, sipping a beer in a pub with a skeptical hard-luck Navy veteran and his
strung-out girlfriend, would set the wheels of the author’s mind turning, along with the Harley’s
chrome spoke wheels, with three days to go and nothing to do but ride and think. We not only
